Watercolor 11 x 35 on 300 lb Arches. Framed 16 x 40 St. Jean de Luz on the Atlantic coast of France is one of our favorite places to stay when visiting France. You get the quaint fishing Port, cultural and historical influence of the Basque, Spanish and French cultures with the historical significance of being chosen to host the royal wedding on June 9, 1660 of Louis XIV to Maria Theresa, the Infanta of Spain which lead to the Treaty of the Pyrenees. The quaint fishing port adds even more to the reason I love this place. I used this subject to paint 4 more abstract versions of the floats and nets.
