Watercolor sealed 8 x 8 x 1 5/8" American Watermedia Easel panel. This starfish seems to be dancing as it is freed from the pounding surf Yaquina at low tide at Yaquina Head in Oregon. I was so fascinated with all creatures in the sea after exhibiting at the Giustina Gallery on the OSU campus earlier this year about Elements of Marine Life. I have been researching the different species we have here in Oregon. This one is a little more red than the orange variety. There was mention of something killing a lot of the starfish -- I hope not!
