Watercolor and pastels 15 x 22 Painting on 300 lb Arches Cold Press. Professionally matted/framed behind Museum Glass 20.75 x 27. This forest scene started with a technique using fresh paint deliberately placed on glass reversing the different colors based on my design. I dampen the watercolor paper and place it on the glass, smoothing and pressing slightly for a minute or two then carefully lift it off. I let it dry totally before adding to the background. I painted the trunks first to develop my design in the trees. Next I added conte crayons to the trunks. The leaves and branches were a combination of both. I loved how the two mediums lifted the painting in ways each couldn’t have done by themselves. I haven't used pastels since I was 12.
