Watercolor painting 21 x 15 matted 29.5x21. Several years ago I created a 5x7 card using watercolor pencil plein aire while waiting for an appointment to finish. I took a couple of photos the next week and noticed how the poppy though standing tall on a slightly bent, small stem was still standing tall. It was an inspiration to me and symbolic for the person it was painted for. Recently I felt motivated to paint it again using my watercolors. Such a little stem to hold up such a big blossom is so incredible that it is an inspiration to me to carry on and stand up for what is important to me too.
