MM Acrylic Pour on Yupo Image: 11x18 Matted/Framed: 19x26 This painting is based on a photo taken at the end of Stage 1 of the Vuelta Tour in 2018. Contador's last race. Used my artist license to change the colors and number of cyclists finishing together. The significance of the photo was to paint Alberto Contador at some point in his last race as a professional cyclist. I really liked how I captured their expressions from the live stream that I photographed. It starts with a pouring of 4 colors on Yupo and letting it dry. From this point you transfer your drawing to the dry surface. This is where the fun begins -- you lift with alcohol to retrieve your whites and then you paint in your darks. I used my artist's discretion for the composition and design by just including the front 3 of 5 riders with Contador in the middle and changed their jersey colors.
